Questions about the Meteor

What is the Meteor?

It is a 9-gram, 8-mm-thick tracker that evaluates the performance of footballers according to a dozen criteria using an accelerometer coupled with artificial intelligence (AI).

What is the difference with a GPS?

A GPS will work with location. Our tracker will understand body movements without knowing the position. It is as if it has been taught to recognise all the movements of the footballer. The two are perfectly complementary.

Is the tracker a hindrance to playing?

No! Ultra light, thin and small, the Meteor is placed at calf level the calf, under your sock. It does not interfere with the player's movements at all, and he or she will immediately forget that he or she is wearing a tracker.

And the strap? It has been designed to be more comfortable to use and the numerous user feedbacks attest to this.

Can I wear my Meteor elsewhere than on my calf?

No, not a good idea. Our R&D (research and development) is currently based on the "upper calf" position. Wearing it anywhere else will give false game information to the tracker, which will not be able to calculate your stats accurately!

Does the Meteor take into account the data from my bad foot?

You are advised to wear the tracker on your strong leg as this is where you will get the best stats, but there is nothing to stop you from comparing it with the other leg and seeing the difference.

Today our artificial intelligence is not yet able to detect passes and shots made with the leg not wearing the tracker. However, we are still working on this.

Can I use my tracker in an official match?

As it is hidden under the sock, you can use it, but we recommend that you ask the referee for permission. Today, the players of the Luxembourg pro team are wearing our tracker and some clubs are using it during their weekend games.

I charge my tracker from my computer but it doesn't seem to charge, what can I do?

Concerning the charging, ideally you should use a computer. The only difference is that the tracker light does not light up and gives the impression that it is not charging.

When the tracker is charging on the computer you should see the tracker light flashing slowly. If you don't see this light flashing, try another cable and another USB port on the computer.

If the problem persists, send an mail to our support team describing your problem or contact us on our networks Instagram and Facebook.

Do I have to keep the phone next to me when I play?

No, once the tracker is turned on, the application can be closed and the phone put away. The bluetooth only comes into play to turn the tracker on/off and then to download the data at the end of your match or workout.

What is the maximum distance between the phone and Meteor?

For the distance to the Meteor, there are 2 distinct things:

  • To connect to the Meteor (to turn it on, off or download data), you need to be within 5 metres of the tracker.
  • However, once the Meteor is turned on, you can disconnect from the phone and it will run on "stand alone". All you have to do is log back in after your session to turn it off and then download the data.
